About ARDN

Asiri Rural Development Network (ARDN) is a global nonprofit organization that is focused on supporting the efforts of the local community to improve on their living standards. The ARDN members are predominantly citizens of Asiri living all over the world. Asiri, a farming community in the Bono Region, is situated in the mid-western part of Ghana. Together with the surrounding communities, the area has a population of more than fifty thousand people.

The ARDN is an initiative that is entirely volunteer based, spearheaded by the indigenes and their diasporan counterparts seeking to contribute resources, time and energy to transform their poverty-stricken community through self-help projects and donor contributions. We believe that these human-centered efforts will enhance the quality of life of people in the community. While as citizens we are committed to support these community initiatives, we also understand that the task is enormous, and we implore donor communities around the world to cushion our efforts to be able to reach the goals of ARDN. For this reason, we seek partners who will have compassion to donate generously towards these noble goals of promoting health, education and sanitation in Asiri and the surrounding communities. No donation is too small.

We encourage individuals willing to support us to consider our membership projects or make a donation. We try and make it as easy as possible for anyone to get involved so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Vision

Our vision is to promote a society where people can achieve their full potential for health and well-being that transcends the lifespan. As a rural community in a developing country, Asiri and surrounding communities with a population of about fifty thousand (50,000) people, have suffered untold hardships, including abject poverty, illiteracy, infections (particularly malaria and cholera), chronic diseases, and poor sanitation. These poor conditions have led to high rates of morbidity and mortality. Most deaths occur prematurely, leaving a high number of orphans in childhood, whose lives become instantly dwarfed with an uncertain future. These conditions prevail in general society with repeated low socioeconomic status, that has defined the community for ages.

Peer-reviewed studies indicate that these problems are intertwined with one another. By promoting education and sound health, many of these problems shall be adequately addressed. Therefore, our clarion call is to forge unity with purpose and promote social change that will circumvent the challenges into opportunities.

In view of these challenges, members of ARDN are determinedly committed to fundamental principles that guide quality of life to promote health and well-being with a cumulative improvement in efforts that encompass physical, mental, and social health dimensions. To achieve this goal, we implore the global society with philanthropic spirit to support us find solutions to these fundamental problems.
